DO YOU HONESTLY THINK, that the world is fulfilling its real mission?
.. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. - Mark 16:15
Why do you think that this world is not fulfilling its mission?
The number one reason behind this is DISUNITY. We have different perspectives, goals, and our so-called missions.
See, divisions do not only take in Mathematics, but it also take place among people. We have groups like the indie-heads, the popular people, the nerds, the bullies, the Christians.
We have so many divisions, that sometimes, there are people that are so close to us, yet they are still so distant. We are physically present but mentally isolated. Having no unity is the death of progress.
So, what is unity and why is it so important?
Unity is bringing the highest priority in a common goal. It is the state of being united or joined as a whole. Unity with other people make things possible, and unity with God make impossible things possible. If we are unified, we can do all things, we can fulfill our mission, and win this world! Remember, there is no such thing as a single-handed unity.
WHY SHOULD WE DESIRE UNITY?
Because God desires unity for His people. (Psalms 133:1, Ephesians 4:3, John 17:20-21)
Jesus even died for unity. (Ephesians 2:16)
The CROSS united us. Are we going to let Jesus die again upon that cross, for us to be united again? We lost the meaning of unity, and we need to bring it back.
Because Jesus prayed for it.
He died for it. (Deut. 6:5, 1 Corinthians 1:10-13)
We should be perfectly united in mind and in thought.
Having the same mind is having the same action.
To fulfill our mission, we must have the same mind, 1 heart, and 1 goal.
If a cat’s tail is tied to a dog’s tail, and someone throws them out into the streets, do you think that they would be united? Wouldn’t they fight? YES, they may be together, but are they united? No. It’s just like a forced arranged marriage; two people are tied together, but not entirely connected with each other.
REMOVE THE GAP! Stop letting Satan hinder you from being united with your fellow brethrens. Satan causes divisions. Why? Because he knows that when we are united, victory is upon us.
So think. Reflect. And avoid these things to achieve unity.
Back biting or gossiping – Protect what you love rather than bashing what you do not!
Complaining or murmuring – Do everything for the glory of God!
Unfaithfulness – Learn to trust!
The power of unity is like this scenario:
Imagine a person holding a stick. With an ample amount of effort, the person could break that stick. Right? But, imagine the person holding a thick bundle of stick, will he be able to break it?
We, Christians are the sticks.
See, other can easily hurt us, bring us down, or break us, but if united, we might even give them a hard time tearing us down. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
Have the mind of Christ. (Philippians 2:3-9)
Don’t be selfish, be selfless. It’s not always going to be about you.
DESIRE UNITY. It is the mother of fulfillment. And its birth is priceless.
Don’t let Satan get in the way. Keep in mind that he is just doing these things because he’s afraid of what we can achieve if united.
God desires unity for His people.
