It is not about your guts, it is about your God
TITLE: It is not about your guts, it is about your God
As Christians, we all know that the Great Commission is the instruction in which we ought to spread the gospel in order to make known to all the nations the truth about our God. However, the catch being is that we tend to become really nervous and afraid; anxious that we would run out of words to say, which results to a not-so effective sharing session. But remember, that our confidence lies within our God, and if you reflect about it, HOW CAN YOU NOT BE EQUIPPED if God is with you? Well, what does the Bible say?
Use these verses as guides as you have your own quiet time with the Lord & note what the Bible has to say about the issue.
MONDAY: Read Exodus 4:11-12
11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
There are times that you couldn’t really share. Not because you have no one to share to, it is just that, you have no guts to. But forget about your gut because you have your God! In sharing, you don’t really need to be fully prepared. You just need to freely speak and God will help you by giving you the right words to say. Write down to your devotional notebook what God revealed to you this Monday. Come back tomorrow for your Tuesday verse.
TUESDAY: Read Isaiah 12:4
4 In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Evangelism is simply sharing what God has done. Think about all the things God has done to your life and start from there!
WEDNESDAY: Why should we share? It is because people, especially at this age, are LOST. AS Christians, it is our divine responsibility to share His word. See 2 Corinthians 4:4. Meditate on it, and ask wisdom from God about what actions you should do after.
THURSDAY: Of course in order to be more confident, equip yourself with the Word of God. Wisdom and knowledge IS ALSO confidence. Read 2 Timothy 16-17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
FRIDAY: You will be rewarded. Read Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
Like a parent whose child is obedient, God will reward His people that obeys Him. Remember to put your confidence in Christ when you share His word, not by your own knowledge and capabilities (or our gut). In the end, God will reward you.
Now, ask yourself after this week-long devotion guide, “What should I do next?”
Enjoy your devotions!
